Sotheby offers a beautiful 1938 Oldsmobile L-38 convertible in an auction in October 2023. This car was a reflection of the Art Deco design influences of its time, with its chrome-plated grille, teardrop-shaped headlights, and smooth, flowing fenders.
From the paint code #43 I conclude, the original color of this convertible was originally 'Nassau Cream'. Later it was repainted to 'Starlight Blue' (Oldsmobile color code #45) later on.
Description on the auction website claims, this would be the only car with the semi-automatic Safety Transmission which survived. Being in very good shape, this automobile once belonged to notable Oldsmobile collector Don Spieldenner [1932-2020].
