Harris was an American photographer from Pittsburgh, PA. He was known for his photographs of residents and visitors to his hometown. This also included musicians and baseball players. The Pittsburgh Courier published many of his photos. Harris was born in 1908 in Pittsburgh. He was the son of hotel owners in the city's Hill District. His first camera he bought in the 1930's and opened a photography studio.
