The 1947 Buick Fastback Super is a full-sized vehicle. It was manufactured from the 1940 through 1958 (model years). This car is of the larger body style (shared with the Roadmaster).
Buick continued the basic styling from 1942. At this time the sedans had the same front fender sweep across the doors (to the rear) as did the Sedanet and convertible styles the years before. A stamped grille with vertical bars were the major styling feature in front. Single stainless body trim lines ran from the front fenders to the the rear edge of the rear wheelhouse shields. Buick had the following standard equipment in that year: Automatic choke, ash receiver, clock, turn signals and (false) woodgrained instrument panels. The crossbar between the bumper guards front and rear was an exterior identication mark. Buick offered four body styles with the return of the Estate wagon. These were not available for six years. Also has the optional spot light.
The car uses the 'Fireball' Inline 8 engine with a 3-speed shift transmission. 1947 Buick Fastback Super - this site contains a few more cars with the interesting fastback styling. The company didn't change much of the Super since 1946: Most noticeable feature was a stamped grille. It had a separate upper bar and new emblem. Buick also used stainless lower body moldings, too. Standard steering wheel was of while tenite. The dash instruments were of round shape and put into a two-toned dash panel. Buick used a chrome emblem with the series script and filled with red. Sales reached a record 160'000.

This is a very original 1947 Buick Fastback Super. It was stored in the original owners garage since 1963. The car retains its nice original paint and upholstery. There are a few holes here and there, but they could easily be fixed. The chrome is in good condition. It had only a few owners from new. The Buick has all new brakes and master cylinder. Many parts have been rebuilt. Has also original trunk interior. The Buick also has a set of brand new whitewall tires.
The car is mechanically in very good shape. Therefore it drives incredibly well. The car has been in the garage of the seller since 1963. It is an amazing time capsule. I can be driven anywhere. Because of its high degree of authenticity it is eligible for any car show preservation class. A very dependable machine!
