History

The 1950 Buick Super shared the new General Motors (GM) C-body with the Roadmaster. But the wheelbase is a few inches shorter. It features three chrome 'Ventiports', as we can also see on this car. At that time Ned Nickles headed Buick's styling division.

The car shows the 'Super' script above the body fender molding on the front fenders. Buick's Dynaflow automatic transmission was optional on this 1950 Buick Super Sedanet car.

The 1950 Buick Super was equipped with a single two-barrel carburetor. Buick enhanced it with a higher displacement of 263 cu in Fireball Inline Eight engine. It produced 112 hp and was able to achieve a top speeds of over 90 miles per hour. (Using the optional Dynaflow automatic transmission).

The 1950 Supers shared with all the other series totally new all bumper guard ('water fall') grille and more rounded styling. All Super type of cars had three VentiPorts on each side of the hood.
