A 1949 Oldsmobile with a camper trailer. Both look pretty new, so I date the photo in the early 1950's. The photographer took this photo in a rural environment.
The 1949 Olds with the new 'Rocket' engines should have enough power to tow the camper trailer. Until now I was not able to identify year and make of the trailer.
1948 Oldsmobile had introduced the new post-war styling named 'Futuramic' to the 'big' body '98' line. (1948 was also the year, the company offered the prewar styled cars for the last time.) It brought the new styling to its smaller B-bodies in 1949. Wheelbase was now 119.5in. The manufacturer retired the 78 model with the Oldsmobile 88, introduced 1949. It shared its new Futuramic B-body platform with the 76. The difference was the use of the new overhead valve Rocket V8. Because of the new styling, Olds renamed the 76 as the Futuramic 76.
