This vintage photo shows an obviously brand new 1949 Cadillac and two small girls, probably sisters. The bumper chrome is shiny and as new as the car. We can date this photo to ca.1950.
Value bestseller: Bodywork explained
Find another 1949 Cadillac of this type at classiccarszone. Changes at Cadillac for the 1949 year were mostly on engineering - with the arrival of the new overhead valve V8 engine. It had a displacement of 331 cu and produced 160 hp. Cadillac implemented only minor appearance changes: A more massive grille treatment with grooved extension panels housing the front parking lights.
Cars of these years were well known for dependability, solid construction and longevity. The engines were also very durable.
