1959 Oldsmobile 98 Coupe is one of the full-size flagship model of Oldsmobile. These production line was manufactured 1940 until 1996. The name stands for a "Series 90" car fitted with an 8-cylinder engine.It was Olds' top model, with lesser Oldsmobiles having lower numbers.
History
As with the 1959 Oldsmobile 98 Coupe, the company completely redesigned their cars for 1959, with a rocket motif from front to rear. A chrome rocket on the front fenders, body-length fins shaped as rocket exhausts, a fin-top taillight (concave on the 98 models). The 1959 models also offered several roof treatments, such as the pillared sedan with a fastback rear window and the Holiday SportSedan. This car was a flat-roofed pillarless hardtop with wraparound front and rear glass. Olds marketed the 1959 models as "the Linear Look". Power windows were available on the 98 models. The manufacturer also offered two-speed electric windshield wipers with electrically powered windshield washers. Also available were power-operated front bench seat as available options.
Unlike other GM makes (Chevrolet, Cadillac) Olds continued to use the full frame, instead of Gneral Motor X-frame. As a matter of fact, Oldsmobiles Ninety-Eight shared its appearance with the '88' series. The company stayed with its top series format by offering four body styles on an exclusive 126.3 in wheelbase: a 4dr sedan, a 2dr hardtop, a 4dr hardtop and a convertible.

This 1959 Olds 98 'bubbletop' runs and drives good. Equipped with 394 cu engine, automatic transmission with power steering and power brakes. Has also power seats and power windows. It has the typical rust spots of GM's 59 models, but solid floors. The previous owner has rebuilt the brake booster and master cylinder. He also rebuilt the carburetor. Car has white walls tires which are in good shape.
